Primates in Suits
Understanding our instinctive behaviours
what we do
Exploring human behaviour and understanding our imperfections of irrationality and bias in the workplace have been a lifelong interest. Exposure to working in diverse corporate landscapes over my working journey has provided the opportunity to observe human behaviours and realise that hidden behind our corporate masks lie universal primal behaviours common to all of us. Understanding our primal origins led me to ask the question “Are we just primates in suits?”. Recent tertiary qualifications have provided me with sound academic principles to apply and analyse how our primal hardwired behaviours play out in corporate corridors.
I’m fascinated with recent discoveries in the emerging field of neuroscience that are enlightening us about how the biology of emotion is driving the brain’s reactions. This has provided a great insight in helping individuals and organisations to improving communication effectiveness and achieving better business outcomes. As a curious, lifelong learner I challenge people out of their comfort zone to view their behaviours through new eyes and perspectives to help people feel more comfortable with their discomfort.
